Default OHMS RMS WATTS...

ok so I want to get 2 12" kicker subs...
http://cgi.ebay.com/Pair-Kicker-S12L...QQcmdZViewItem

they are 4ohm subs.. so do I need an amp that is 4ohm output? cause a lot of the info im seeing says like X-amount of power at 1 ohm, or X-amount at 2 omhs... so does that mean it wouldnt power a 4 ohm?

and then do i need like a 2 channel amp cause its 2 subs? does MONOblock mean only for 1 sub?...

what amp would most people recomend for this set up? I want to give myself heart problems from my base...

sorry I am the worst.... Thank you to everyone who helps and replies to this lol

ohms are a measure of resistencs, the more ohms you have, the more resistance there is.

You would want a mono amp that can push about 750watts RMS(RMS is constant power) at 2ohms if the subs are wired in parallel.

he needs to go out and google "car stereo wiring diagrams or setups" something along that line... and do some more reading on kicker's website, it should have a faq somewhere.

Those aren't 4ohm subs, they're DUAL 4ohm VC's per sub... wiring in parallel/parallel will give you a 1ohm mono load.

You need an amp that will push around 1000x1@1ohm for that pair of L7's...

a GREAT choice for that would be the Elemental Designs Nine.1 it is 1200x1@1ohm and is only $315 w/free shipping... www.edesignaudio.com

BTW: This is how you would need to wire it...

You could also wire it like this if your amp was rated as 1000x1@4ohm: series/parallel

my bad, I didn't see that it was a dual voice coil, I don't deal with kicker a lot.
