Default Ok replacing Headlights...

I am buying the silverstar headlights tonight, what size do i get? 9006 or something? Do i change more then 1? I mean i know more then the one light but i mean high's and low's? or anything else?? Do you have to remove the light housing itself or can you just undo the light from where it is? My old car you had to remove the whole light fixture to change the damn light, stupid cavalier!

You can remove the bulb from the housing, just twist and pull, you'll get it. As for the bulb numbers, check your manual, I havent looked at these for a while.

please do yourself a favor and don't. Silverstars suck! I tried them, they actually seem dim compared to the factory ones.

YOu know, I kinda prefer removing the whole light assembly. . . it was very easy on my old Lexus, and that way, you didn't have to fish around to get the bulb to fit right. Getting a bulb into a socket on the xA is one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life. Talk about no room!

the tc has plenty of room. just twist it to the right or left and pull out.

Ok done! it was easy...nowwwwwwww to my suprise over the left headlight or if you are looking into the engine the right one. There was a little black box that had a date on it and it said BLACKMORE i think. What the hell is that? It had some wires conneced to it and a ground wire that was screwed into the side of the car. WHAT IS IT?? I have to move it to get to the light but i put it back...any clues?

Anyone had a problem with these lights lasting? Or would anyone recommend any other brand?

My silverstars lasted at least a year in my old car (I had them for a year before I sold the car) It took the same sized bulbs as the tC. I've heard other people say they only lasted 6 months for them, so maybe I was just lucky. *shrug*

I've mentioned this in other threads, but really haven't got a reply.. does anyone else get flashed regularly while driving at night because oncoming traffic thinks you have your high beams on when you don't? (using stock bulbs)

It happens to me just about every night.

Recheck your lighting alignment. If you replace a light bulb and dont re adjust your beam pattern you will blind people.
BTW Silverstars are gtreat and provide the HID look most are looking for. And mine lasted about a year and i drive a lot at night. At least you didnt pay 100 buck for them
