I've seen that before. I think they were trying to sell that for like $45K or something.....
I wonder what it metered?
That sub weighs about 200lbs and has a RMS of 5000watts.
They are selling now for around $2,599.....
It looks like it could almost lift the back end of the car off the ground when it hits....

Yeah so I just heard 2 of the Rockford P2 10's and they weren't to bad at all.......300watts going to each of them and they rocked pretty good in a extended cab chevy.
I'm feening for some bass...I am seriously about to settle for something mediocre so I can satisfy my addiction. Anything that can hit 145 will please the hell out of me...I think.....haha.

Wow......you seem pretty firm with your opinion.
I've thought of it long and hard and I've come to the conclusion.......
There are so many great subs out there on the market today that it would be hard to just out right choose a winner... Take the #1 and #2 subs in the world with the exact specifications. Now power them with the same amp. Put them in identical vehicles, then build two totally different boxes. The #2 sub could blow the #1 sub away. Now build both of the subs the factory recommended enclosures and feed them from two diffenent amps. Lets use a 1000watt Brand name amp like (JL, Eclipse, Zapco) vs a 1000watt (Lanzar, Boss Audio ect..)
Which of the two would you put your money on?

I honestly wish some one could tell me the perfect speaker made and could do what ever I wanted it to. But I don't think it's possible especially because perfect for you may not be perfect for me.
I'm even starting to think that the actual sub is least important part of the equation.
With the right install I believe any sub could rock!

Make sure your amp gets the juice it needs to feed clean power to the subs and the subs are in an exellent built box and those are some of the most important aspects in my opinion.

O yeah! and _666_jesus_999_ your system looks great.

_666_jesus_999_,
I noticed in your second picture (the side shot of the xB) your rear sat lower than your front. It looks like you have a drop on your box already. Have you thought about putting your stock springs back on to give the box a better stance? (<-----That's just my opinion)
I have a 2" drop on my box and I plan to put my stock springs back on in the rear when I get all of my audio equipment.....

just got out of work, sorry so late. yeah the back is lower than the front, im running the yein s techs and they are super soft. but im going to be redoing my system pretty soon and am going to be taking out my subs and my spare. a buddy of mine is opening a small audio shop, and is going to be my sponsor. as far as putting stock springs back on i dont think so i might throw on some airbags and see how that works.

Nice......I would have air bagged my box if I had another vehicle as a daily driver. A friend of mine borrowed his cousins tahoe with bags and 22's. It looked great but we couldn't go over like 50mph on the highway because when you took a slight curve the vehicle would start to wobble really bad. I just don't see any vehicle with bags as being a daily driver. Maybe it was his set up but that was my only experience with air bags.

I wish I was so fortunate as to have a friend in the car audio biz that would sponsor me. I've been looking for that since I bought my box.......

thank popalock for all of your input in this forum.........

i am with Scion Evolution/ Great Lakes Chapter (basically out of Chicago)

I havent really been intrested in any modifications to my Camo Xb other than Soundz, strictly soundz no t.v., dvds, etc. just the old school music & SQ!

credentials: In 2 1/2 months i have won every sound competion that i have been in approx. 4. 3 first place tophies, one second place trophies. 1st place in db Drag, 1st place in Usac, 1st place from RaXX F1 status installerz in Wisconsin (SQ), 2nd place from Mecca.

now i say this not to brag but to let you know that i have been through alot in the past 2 1/2 months since installing my sound system in my box

things have gone wrong, but mostly have gone excellent.

First off you would like to start with an alpine or eclipse HU. those are my recommendations, only the pro's use those, best SQ. Secondly and like you said get a good install. An installer that has work on Scions before. dont let yours be his first one. check out the installers credentials. check some of his work. trust me it will pay off in the long run. make sure its someone you can talk with and trust, this is a relationship you have to have with your installer from day one. its a marraige.

I took out ALL of the stock sound equipment in the xb. gutted the xb. and DYNOMATed the whole DAMN thing. :o everything this is where good sound starts!

I installed a pair of Boston Acoustic Pro 6.5 in kick panels up front in my xb. a pair of $600 dollar speakers in a custom built kick panel soundz excellent. the only reason i didnt go with what i feel are the best speakers on the market which are MB Quartz Q series ($1000) or Boston Acoustic Z series ($1,100) is becuase there wasnt a $400 dollar SQ difference from the Boston Acoustic Z or MB Quarts Q series. There is a difference but not a 4 or 5 hundred dollar difference. house speakers differ from car speakers becuase house speakers are in an enclosed speaker box. so if you want excellent SQ u have to take the speakers out of the factory locations put them in a box (good enclosure, kick panels) good sound is made, if its done right (proper install)!

i went with a pair of Boston Acoustic NX67 6" coaxials to fill the rear speakers. These speakers are very good in my mind. they are good with your sound stage. Quality speaker for the money. unless you plan on taking the speakers out of the factory locations in the rear also. then you can go with highr end components of same brand, maybe another set of Boston Acoustic Pro's.

These four speakers are powered by a JL E6450 (6 channel 45W x6) I have 45W apiece going to each of the rear NX67 " coaxials. Then I have 90W going to each of the Boston Acoustic Pro 6.5, 45W to the tweeter and a separate 45W goin to the mid range. These speakers can take alot of power and push it out real well!

Lastly I have one of the greatest invention mankind has to offer! a 10w7 and a JL 500/1 in a JL Spec'd Ported box. If that aint God gift then i dont know what is. that speakers sounds so good and clean also with hard hitting SPL it is amazing! At Spl competions i have hit 136, 134, and a 139!! I have beaten almost anybody with a single woofer and under 500w (rms) 10", 12", 15" whatever! they lay at my feet!
1 10"w7 is all it takes once you start to go deaf, you will have to add more ofcourse, but you are good until then.

These are my opinions, remeber EVERYONE has one. I SWEAR by Boston and JL. I would buy only one other amp and thats Zapco, that is the only thing that is comparable to JL amps. They simple kick %SS!!! JL and ZAPco the best money can buy! I would not buy another SUb other than W7. you have guys saying this or that speaker beat up on 2,3 or 4 JLw3 or whatever. but NOTHING beats up on a W7! NOTHING!!

If you want bass out of this world just move up to the Grand daddy 13W7 if that aint the loudest damn thing u have ever heard I will fly down there and check your ears myself!!!!! (2) 12W7's are unbelievable.....but of course with 13W7 and 12W7 etc. you will need more power and run into more problems with positioning of amps (JL 1000/1), more dynomat, probably more speakers or repositioning fronts to recreate the soundstage to compensate for overpower bass, another altenator, tickets by cops, new car windows, going DEAF!!!!! :D

with some good gauge 2 or 4 guage wire, dynomat, yellow cap battery, capictor, quality install those are the intangibles, you will be in good shape!

I will continue to upgrade and win trophies with my set up.

Remember these are my opinions, this is what has worked for me. make sure quality is the #1 priority

peace Rock

Sweet.... Hey I have an important question. Does anyone know the resonant frequency of an xB? I know there are so many factors that go into calculating the resonant frequency but I figure since most of us have xB's someone would know.......

I have a camouflage xb, so my theme is to be rough and rugged...no flashy rims and pretty box. I want you to look at it and say well it looks stock everything 'fits' together, but once you get in, you go DAMN, its like that?

all my pics are on my site just click the link below.......
