Default Power At The Battery.

I was wondering what, if any, problems people have run into by getting rid of the big red box that connets to the battery? I want to get rid of it but I don't know what the hell is inside of it so I don't want to go cutting at something until I know what the consequences are. If anyone can help me with this or if there's a DIY for this then please give me the link. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It just seems as though there's more to it ya know. All that plastic that covers it can't be just for protection. I mean, on most cars it's a main wire with a ring or whatever to connect it to the battery. Why would there be a little box with ours? I just want to know what that box actually does and would it be safe to remove it?

Ok, so it's a purposeless box, thanks. Where is Bueche? I don't think I've ever been there.

Well you are half correct what is showed in the pic is the cover to the battery terminal. But also attached below and behind the top cover, are fusable links, so its not just an empty box. If you want to just remove the battery terminal cover then no problem. But if you want to remove the whole red plastic piece and the terminal you are going to have do some other fusing method. I would suggest AGU glass fuse holders to replace the factory fusable links. You will need one for each wire coming into the the red box.

Ok, so like the Rockfard Fosgate battery terminals should work that have like 2 or 3 inputs right? So I can basically clip the wires at the little plastic box and just tap them into the RF battery terminal?

Of course, thanks for your help, I hate that damn box! It's too big to fit on my yellow top battery so it's kinda rigged right now and I miss a few points at car shows and audio competitions for it. Once again, thanks, it's greatly appreciated!
