well I took my car to the dealer today and they just happened to have a MAF sensor in stock and they replaced it under warranty. I ended up taking out my box and CAI just so that I would not have to argue for an hour about what the problem really was.

thanks for all your input and help.

Mike

Negative off first and neg back on last. No matter what you are hooking up to the battery. It is the only safe way!

I heard somewhere that you should discharge the system with the negative off by pressing the brake? Will this help be even more safe?

That is to discharge the SRS system.(Airbag) Once the negative is off there is no voltage present unless there is circuitry designed to maintain voltage such as the SRS system.

well i tok off my cai and brought it to the dealer with my stock air box but they said they cannot give it to me for free because they saw the intake from before (stupid me). they at first charged me $285 for a new maf sensor, but i was talking to one of the guys over there and he wanted to help me out, so he used his discount and i got it for $165. the guy that wanted me to pay $285 told me if i get it off the other guy for $165 , than installation will b $118. the one that helped me out on the price was like "wtf, its only 2 screws, why would we charge so much" the other guy didnt answer, so i bought the maf and i installed it and all is well now

one problem tho, a very big problem, when i was taking off the cai, for some reason my jack didnt hold and it bent down and my car fell right on top of it, i saw the rotor hit the floor, i checked EVERYTHING and nothing broke, but for some reason on some of the turns i made i hear a small noise like medal touching medal, if i get my wheels aligned, you think it will help? i pray no other problems happened, this is too much money

Check the backing plate. It is probably bent and rubbing the back of the rotor.

it is beehind the rotor. It is the thin metal plate behind the rotor. It extends out past the rotor about 1/4 inch.
