people also ask why i did it.... well, i got the kit for free
i had a push button for my starter in my corolla. it was a hybrid style, you could start the car with the key like normal by turning the key...or insert the key and press the button to start the car
the only problem is that you need a key in the ignition for you to drive...because i couldn't move the shifter without a key and i couldn't turn the wheel without a key.
i guess if you had the time, you could override the solenoids that lock the wheel and the shifter(automatic)
you could also put toggle switches for "ACC" and "ON", and then a button for start. then have it disable the solenoids when you switch to the "on", like it would when you rotate the key to "on" that would be the ideal setup if you wanted to go all the way with this

If you did all that, what would stop someone from stealing your car? Personally, I like the idea of redundant security. . . the more the better. I personally wouldn't be very found of REMOVING certain theft protection devices. But I'm sure a good alarm w/ starter disable would stop most would-be thieves.

i totally understand, secuirity could be gone, unless you set all the switches for "on" "acc" and " start" to work off of relays that would only allow power when the alarm was switched off, which could be obtained for a negative signal from the alarm into a relay.
