ok i just bought some used racing seats with cheap sliders on them....from swapping seats in previous cars i figured i would just take the brackets off my seats and switch them out. well, when i pulled the seat out of my xb i quickly realized that a team of Japanese engineers must have spent months designing them because there is no way to simply unbolt them from the brackets.....so my question...have any of you ever taken apart the seats in an xb and is there an easy way to do it....i cant even figure out how to get the "bolts" loose on the stock seats...it looks like they have been pressed together or something.

 

not that i know of ..you need new brackets and hardware ...i even had to have my hardware redone...what i did was get the sliders and drill new holes and then countersunk them to fit the bolts flush ..pretty easy ...you can get a csk at a hardware store for few bucks and just attach to your drill..im actaully going to redo mine so if i find all my bolts i can take pics to explain a bit what i did ...also note that i bought the wedge brackets from nopi for half the price that wedge sells em for...the nopi site sells them as a company called #1 ..also make sure to measure everything some brackets are only for that one seat or size..all so forgot to mention that you can take all the stuff in the seat out aswell. i have all my electronics from the stock seats in my racing seats .

 

ya bro and i just wanted to let u know from wat i know u cant use the stock seat belts but i maybe wrong if so let me know and wat kinda seat do u have

 

ive got my stock belt on and also some corbeu 4 points on...the wedge/#1racing brackets have a tab so that you can still use the stock belts i will take pic and post it to show you what i use and what it looks like..

 

thanks for the replies...i was just hoping i could use the stock brackets to try and keep the base of the seats looking stock and hopefully keeping close to the stock height, its looking like i am going to have to buy new sliders for the seats also. they are missing the bar that lets you slide the seat back and forth. i only gave 150 for them so i cant complain.

 

wedge looks almost like stock, still very high i will take pics in a sec and post them for you by the end of the night...what did ya get btw??

 

they are just some cheap no name seats...they are memory foam and really comfortable to sit in though. i always wanted some red seats for my xb and i figured for 150 i couldnt go wrong....they were worth that just to have sitting around my house to look at.
