Removing The Stock Stereo in The tC ?

Default Removing The Stock Stereo in The tC ?

Hey guys...I gotta get the stock deck out so that i can install RCA line adaptor, to run subs to. Just wondering if anyone could describe how to get the middle console unassembled..... other than removing the shift ****...are there clips , or screws and where are they..thanks guys much appreciated

It's totally easy. I'll assume you have the manual tranny for this.

1. Disconnect the battery - you don't wanna be messing with the deck with it connected.
2. Unscrew the shift ****
3. Using either a nonmarring tool or a lot of pulling, pull off the plastic piece with the shifter in the middle of it. You can kinda work something into the crack on each side and then it just pulls up from the console area. Be sure to disconnect the connector that goes to the lighter.
4. In the same way, remove the plastic surrounding the deck. There is a large clip toward the bottom for all the electronic connections. Also be careful at the top as the ducts for the air vents fit a little bit tight.
5. After that the deck is just sitting there. There are two bolts at the top and two screws at the bottom. I believe the bolts are 10mm.

All done.
