Default RS3 Alarm?

Is it just mine, or does the alarm seem a wee bit sensitive? It went off twice in the office parking lot. I believe the culprit was two truck exhausts. Is the alarm brain under the passenger seat? Can you disable or temporarily disable the interior motion sensor? I sometimes bring my dog with me and he sets it off. I don't want him to feel guilty Plus, I need to look into getting an engine starter that works with the stock alarm and remote.

The alarm brain should be a small 3"x3"x1" box that is located just to the left of the glove box behind the center console. There is an adjustment on the unit.

Wow, so no one else with the RS3 or stock alarm have any issues when a car/truck/motocycle with a loud exhaust drive by setting off their alarm?

The motion sensor is connected to the same bracket that the alarm is connected to. Take out th glove box and it is on the left. Arizonaturbo, I got around to taking it out this evening. I didn't see any adjustment on my alarm brain or the interior intrusion sensor. I just went ahead and disconnected the interior intrusion sensor(IIS) and removed it. Lots of times I have my dog with me and can't arm the car, because of the IIS.

My intrusion radar doesnt seem to work.

I took it to the dealer and they told me it does work??

They said that the test is to set two small boxes on the floor and pick them up. If the alarm goes off, everything is well.

I have always read that if you stick your arm in the window your radar alarm will go off? what is the truth?

How does your alarms work?

What about the guy who said there is an adjustment?

Why did this thread end? Help me.

THank you

I'm at work now so I don't have access to it, but I know I had a manual that came with my alarm system and gave all kinds of information on how to test it, disable, change sensitivity etc. Did you not get one? If not I'll see if I can scan mine.

I tested the motion sensor out one day, i rolled the front windows down, armed the alarm, and reached in as if i was gonna steal the headunit. It went off just as my hand got to the center console... So mine works...

Are there any adjustments to the alarm sensitivity that the operator can make on the RS 3.0 version of the alarm system?

Thanks,
John

Dropped the glove box and looked for a sensor to adjust. I didn't see anything to adjust or anything that looked like an alarm component.

I would appreciate any information on the installation or operation of the RS 3.0 alarm system.

I did see the 2004 PDF installation instructions. Anyone have installation instructions for the 2006 Rel. 3.0.

Thanks,
John

Yeah I would like to know if it can be adjusted as well. I can't get it to go off when I put my arm in the window.
