Running / Parking lights blowing fuse.
Some help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.
2005 Scion XB running lights will not work. Fuse was blown, replaced it and blew again, replaced the 10 with a 15 and lasted all of 3 seconds and blew again so there must be a short someplace.
Checked every fuse, plus wiring under dash today and not fun in a pure black Scion under the sun with a slipped disc and torn muscle in back.
Has anyone had this problem and hopefully be able to give me an idea where to START tracing the wiring so I can look in same place you found your problem?
Traced everything I could see under dash today and couldn't find anything 'off' that looked like it was out of place or worn...
If no one has already had this problem.. any tips?
(And, I do know electrical systems and have multimeter to check what needs to be checked... just not very useful while blowing fuses, or with out cutting wires, pulling bulbs and checking continuity for shorts and geeeez, has to be an ezier way)
BTW: rest of lights (headlights, blinkers, backup) are still working fine.
Thnx

No tips or possibilities to look for first?
Was hoping for some "common knowledge" flaw that might be causing it.. like in a 1999-2003 Silverado, if it appears your windshield washer tank's motor ruptured/tank broke around it because fluid pours out like crazy when you use it.. don't waste a large bill for a garage to take inner fender or go down through engine compartment to it; take 5 minutes top and pull pins from driver's side headlight and check the line leading straight up behind the light - has a flaw where it is fed through metal catches and can wear through... can fix it yourself in 10 minutes top and save a fortune from using a garage (I was quoted $120 labor alone from a low-end garage I've dealt with for about 12 years - can imagine at a regular garage)

One bulb was replaced, but the running lights were out before the bulb was replaced and got new fuses (had already found the blown fuse but had none to replace it at that time).
Had actually expected the replaced bulb (brake light) to be bad again after the fuse popped, but apparently unrelated, because still working fine.
But, thanks anyhow.. will try taking them both apart and seeing if anything loose or touching in them.
