Default Scion 6 Disk In-Dash Changer Problems

I bought my xB new with the in-dash CD changer. It worked great for the longest time, but then I started getting errors - mostly Error 4. The only way to get the CDs to play again was to completely shut down the car and restart.

I brought my car in and they replaced the changer, but this one is worse than the original!

Anyone else having problems with their changer?

Garbage I have no faith in Pioneer radios any longer I have been without a cd player now for like 3 weeks and my car is not even a year old yet. My radio gets error 3,4,2, & it wont eject for nothing i have 4 cds stuck in there and my dealership is dragging there feet about replacing it. If I have to buy another radio im gonna flip this one thru there window.

Quick question, and don't shoot the messenger:

Do you have folks smoking in your car? Now, I know this already from Victor, but truth is, smoke gums up CD changers. Have seen this happen a LOT in the past with buddies who smoked in their cars. Did not matter what brand of player...

Smoke used to gum up tape players too, but not as bad as CD changers.

Just something to think about.

Now, if it's something else, then yeah, I would be ____ed as well. And demand either a new player, or pay for another one for me.

yeah i've posted before but i'll add my $0.02 here.. pioneer isn't the best of quality and i never had much respect for them.. I'm not surprised about these problems, I had my tC radio replaced three times.. for errors, scratches on the cd's, failing to eject.. etc..

best thing to do is to go back to the dealer and get another radio.. I kept going back to mine until I got one that worked right.. so far it's been fine since last fall.. if they don't want to replace it go to another dealer. I had the same thing at the first dealer I went to, they just wanted to make excuses.. Seems they didn't want to warranty cost out a new unit.. I took it to another dealer where they kept giving me radios until it worked right.. I wouldn't take any excuses about this.. your radio is bad again.. get another..

let us know how it goes..

Well, I like Pioneer, but that does not mean they can't make bad stereos. And yeah, you should fight till they make it right.

If you notice at Scion.com, they don't have the 6-disc HU as an option anymore. Kinda makes you wonder if there is a problem with it...hmmm? Hey, maybe you could get a new '06 HU through your warranty. That would be sweet!!

Man, you paid good money for your car. DO NOT let them tell you know, what the hell?! If the radio ain't working they better fix it before you break THEM. This kind of crap makes me mad. Hey, you should contact toyota corporate and tell them!

Pioneer knows its messed up but they are being cheap about it and not recalling them because really it dont affect stopping the car or the safety of it so why should they mean while im wearing out the scan button.

At least if mine was to break, I got the XM in there...here's hoping mine don't break on long road trips, still.
