I'm trying to track down a PDF install for the OEM Add on Security System, P/N 08586-52961 to be exact used on the 06.5 xB with steering wheel controls

No luck at TRD Sparks or anywhere else, hopefully somebody has a PDF saved somewhere. I found one for a 08586-52960 but there appear to be differences when comparing this harness to the one in the install guide.

Any chance the 'security system' and 'engine immobilizer' are the same thing?

EDIT: Just discovered the answer is no.

On the bright side, I found where Toyota HIDES the doc you're seeking. In my case (tC), it's the last 28 pages of the 75 page ACCESSORIES PDF which is located in the maintenance and repair manual. I'm surprised that Sparks apparently didn't know or wasn't willing to hand it over.

 

Just checked my archives and the PDF I have is the same one you have for the pre-2006.5 alarm systems without steering wheel controls...I do have the actual alarm stashed somewhere as I haven't installed it in my '06.5 yet so let me see if I can dig-up the manual from that one and compare the two.

I'm pretty sure I have the harness figured out after taking another look at it last night but I'd really like to verify before I go ahead with the install.

 

Give me a day or two to hunt it down and I'll pull the installation instructions out and see if we can get all of your questions answered.
