honestly-spend the $500 on a better alarm. get a 2 way like the clifford or whoever else. the scion one isn't worth it. i have it-it DOES NOTHING. i bang the ____ outta my windows, NOTHING. absolutely the biggest waste of money. the key is the same as if u got no alarm. the whole point is that you need the chip in the key to start the car. alarm or not, u still need the key. scion has the engine kill built into the car. as far as the scion security-i don't know what it even is supposed to do. i thought it did something, i see that it does nothing. if u're bent on getting it, go thru trdsparks or mcgeorges for half of the price that a dealership would charge you. then have scion install it for you-they'll charge u like $90/hour labor, but u still save over a $100.

Yeah, if you look below the clock and the heat controls on the left hand side of the console, you'll see a picture that looks like a car w/ it's engine and tranny...when you take your key out it blinks...the engine immobilizer is on.

I took it back into the dealer, and had them adjust. Now it goes off when i tap on the glass (with the key), or spray with a hose when washing the glass.
