Default Scion Security Remote

Yo whats good, gotta question.

I'm new and I have an 04 xb with scion security and i was looking to get another remote off of ebay (don't wanna pay the dealers price), and i see some remotes with a small LED at the top of the remote. The ones that I already have don't have it. My question is wether the small LED at the top of the remote is featured on the later models with scion security? Or should all cars equipped with scion security have the remote with the little light on them?

If so, can you post a pic of your remote, and tell me what year xb that you have......just to be sure. thanks

I'm not 100% sure, but I think the non-LED remote comes with the xB as standard keyless entry. I think the LED remote comes with the security package.

Does anyone know for sure?

My 05 has Scion Security and there's no LED on the remote. The system is integrated with the keyless entry, and you use the same remote you'd use if you didn't have the security system. You don't get a different one if you buy the system.

The xA and xB security systems are different because the xA doesn't come with keyless entry standard.

I'm assuming that's why those covers only fit xA remotes and why xAs with security systems have an audible confirmation while xBs don't.

Same situation here... 2005, Scion security. My remote looks exactly the same as the one pictured above.

(Scion Security is a waste of money)

I wish it had an ignition interlock, but if you calibrate it correctly it's an effective system for preventing entry through the doors or by breaking windows, IMO.

For me, it was worth it because I got a break on insurance for having a "factory" system that I wouldn't have gotten with an aftermarket unit.

A good system for $200 maybe, but not for $500 when you can get a paging system with remote start and shock sensor for that.

But then again if it saves you that much more, perhaps it is worth it to you, just not me.
