Shorted? (PIE TOY Aux adapter/Cigarette lighter question)
Ok, I installed the USA Spec TOY Aux adapter this morning, and the plan was to have a cable run up under and into the center console. I wasn't thrilled about drilling a hole in the console so I managed to pop the cigarette lighter out of its little holder.
I run a test of everything before I start to put things back in and we're all good, but once I get everything run and replaced, the cigarette lighter does not work. Hrm I say. I test the power adapter in the other lighter and the light comes on. So I pop things off and make sure all the connections are secure. They are but still no juice to the lighter.
Perhaps I blew a fuse I tell myself, let's check! I check the fuses and they're a-ok.
So:
The adapter works plugged in directly to the Ipod, so the adapter and cable work fine.
The power adapter works in the other lighter socket, so it works.
Connections are ok to the console lighter socket.
Fuses appear to be normal.
Unit does not function.
Well, I'm guessing that it got bumped on a screwdriver or maybe even the 3.5mm jack that was being run and somehow got shorted out.
What do you think?
