Default small subs

I was looking into getting some small subs for my xA. Either the JL 6w0 or Kicker SS mb6. I don't play any really bassy music any more, just xm the occasional easy listening. I don't want the bass to be overbearing anymore, but I do want it to hit. I've thought about doing something nice with a 8w7, but even that can be over bearing. Any suggestions or experience with any of these subs?

I HAVE USED THE 6WO SEVERAL TIMES. i liked them, but they dont go very low. a big sub wont be over being if you set it up right. i currently am using a pioneer flat 8" mounted inside my spare tire and love it. and no loss of room

There are several woofers in between the W7 and W0 class.
I wouldn't go below an 8" for the simple fact that you lose so much low end performance below 8".
A JL Audio 8W3v2 would perform very well without being dominant in your stereo setup. It is also considerably less expensive than the W7.
JL also has a W3v3 series, but they tend to be less efficient at the lower end of the curve, which, IMHO, makes the W3v2 a much better performing woofer.

Are you set on one of those brands? The Image Dynamics ID8 and Elemental Designs 9Kv.2 are both incredible small subs that will fill out the bottom end very nicely without being over powering. I ran a single ID8 for 2 years and then changed to two eD 9kv.2's about 6 months ago and have no complaints about either set up. The eD's are also only $75.

I used to have two of those JL's in my box and it sounded great. I made a sealed enclosure for them and only ran like 150watts to them. it sounded great. nice balance and smooth sound. The only thing I didn't like about them is that I tuned them well and when I really wanted to listen to them loud they lost their balance and were drowned out by the rest of my set up. I would actually suggest a decent 10 in a sealed box.

You might wanna check out the Infinity BassLink II. This is one I might be getting, especially since it has a built-in amp and a very important bass **** for up front...
