Visibility with the stock headrests is poor. It's not so much the rear headrests as it is the drivers headrest. It blocks alot of my view especially when reversing. I removed the headrest and it's sooooo much easier to see things when looking back. But that's not safe if I get rearended.

Has anyone looked into getting smaller headrests? Or modifying the stock ones?

I take the back ones off and keep them in the trunk area as I usually don't have anyone in the back. When I do have someone seated in the back I put them back on. This helps the vision problem a little.

I ALMOST HAD A BRILLIANT IDEA! BUT...as soon as i read this, i went out to see if the middle miniature headrest would fit. it is narrower than the others. that would be awesome if it fit. then you could replace them all, but no luck.

 

An Echo headrest would fit.

I may have to go on a trip to all the dealers to look at headrests. Seats are usually outsourced to external companies and the headrests may be interchangeble between brands outside of Yota/scion/lexus.
