Default Speaker Vibrations

I have an early '06 XB and have noticed a problem after about 1000 miles. The front speakers, particularly the passenger side, vibrate at about 3500 RPM or when riding over rough pavement. This is extremely annoying when trying to listen to audio books!

The dealer refuses to look at it because he considers it "normal wear and tear" per page 11 of the Scion Owner's Warranty information manual. Wear and tear after 1000 miles WTF?

Any ideas? I do have the front strut bar installed if that matter (?).

Thanks,

JS

Is it the speakers or the doors. Cause I have always had some vibration sounds when thumping thespeakers in mine, but no notice of vibration at any rpm. I do have a vibration no in my rear door hatch after my tint was done, it sounded like it was coming from the dash but if you turn your head you can tell its comeing from the rear of the car.

Default Speakers

It is clearly the speakers. It has nothing to do with the volume, in fact, it is most annying when listening to audio books or talk radio. It is basically the speakers vibrating--it is hard to explain!

I don't think it is the door, but it is largely the passenger speaker, but now also the driver side speaker. Can it be that the strut bar stiffened up the front end of the car too much?

My '06 xB is doing the same thing on the passenger side. It sounds like the door is vibrating, but if I turn the radio off or fade to the rear the vibration goes away. Just turned 1,000 miles today. I have not mentioned it to the dealer yet.

One piece stock speaks are f'n rivited to the door inner panel...thanks Scion! Try some strategic placed foam sheet/pieces between the plastic door panel and the door steel?

Default Speakers in DASH

My problem is the speakers in the dash. I don't think I have speakers in the door?

OK, my bad! When you said front and others posted doors, I "saw" doors.

Pop the grilles off and see if anything is loose. The grilles also tend to vibrate...sticky back foam tape probably your solution.

What car do you have?

xB has speakers in the dash, front doors, and behind the rear seat.

xA has no speakers in the dash, 2 in the front doors, and one in the back doors.

You know... it's kinda strange. My front passenger speaker seems to particularly vibrate when playing louder. Definitely not blown, just something vibrating. I just say it's strange because right here are three that are doin the same thing on just the passenger.

Same here, passenger side started to vibrate with louder playing, over time it migrated to the drivers door too. My 06 has 3800 on it and will be going to the dealership soon to get the short shifter ive been waiting for, my replacement radio and hopefully get the vibrations fixed. Dealerships have the responsibility to provide you with 12 months or 12000miles of no "normal wear and tear" problems.

Try checking your passenger side wiper blade; mine was making a rattle that sounded like static in the dash; had the dealer tear the dash apart, insulate wires, etc. with no effect - later realized the last three inches of the blade didn't even touch the glass. I ended up throwing a 16" blade on to stop the annoyance.
