Default Speedo seems to run a little fast?

Well i thought id put up a post to see if im the only one or if im crazy. Ive noticed that my speedo in the xb seems to run faster than Im really going. I get out on the highway and cruise about 75mph and it just seems like im getting passed by every car on the highway. I mean I know that people speed but it just doesnt seem to add up. Its always really hard to find out if im correct, what to i go by? Let me know what you all think. Like I said, maybe im just imagining things.

Stock setup shows somewhere around 3% high, which would mean you are actually going somewhere around 73 when your speedo shows 75.

Im still running my stock wheels & tires. I can understand the 3% but i would be willing to bet thats its more like 5 or 6%.

Just find one of those signs on the highway that tells you how fast your going... usually near construction zones.

x2. or, do what i did to check my speedo after installing gauge faces. get a buddy to ride beside of you at a certain speed and hold it there, ride right beside of him, and see if yours is off. speed up to a different speed, check. i did it at 35, 55, and 70, and if you can find somebody that has a digital speedo, that would be better. (his has digital to the tenth mile, so mine are dead on)

As you can see, at freeway speeds the xB speedo can easily be 6% or more 'optimistic' stock, and with new tires - it gets even more inaccurate with worn tires or low pressures...

This has been covered in great detail here on Scionlife - searching should find the discussions...
