Spoiler Rattle?
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but today I noticed a rattle coming from my spoiler when I was playing with my system. It's the factory spoiler and the system is just a 10" runnin 300 watts. I tried searching but couldn't find anything. Anyone know how to knock this out?
Yeah i tried that. but when I did, the little saddle the bolt actually holds would just turn and tear up the paint under the cover. I tried to keep it in place and tighten the bolt, but couldn't keep it from turning. Any ideas?
I installed my factory spoiler myself. Talk about measure twice and drill once!
The crush nut inserts sound like they are loose. If they are not stripped and thrashed too bad, you *might* be able to re-crush them.
You will need to remove the spoiler. The 2-sided tape will need to be replaced. Find a correct sized metric bolt, washer and get a nut that it will just slip through. Or drill a hole in a piece of 1/4"~1/2" thick steel just big enough. Hold the nut or steel piece (and hopefully the crush nut) from spinning and try to tighten the bolt to re-crush the insert.
