I just have an Aux adapter at the moment (also have the belkin tunedok for the cup holder)... but I'm considering this one from crutchfield:

USA Spec iPod interface

Sounds like your NEO adapter, but only $120.

The USA Spec iPod interface looks nice, and would've sold me if it would display track information on the HU, but as it doesn't I decided to cheap it out and go the Aux route instead.

I don't know about using the head unit for controls, but you could easily use one of the AUX adapters for the audio. You'd control it from the iRiver.

Yes, it seems like the USA spec thingy from Crutchfield does the same as the Neo.

I just installed my Toy03 and you guys are right, it doesn't control the iPod. Had I known of the USA one, I would've gone with that.

Total for my installation: $70 (Toy03 shipped) + $30 (Monster mini-to-RCA cable) = $100. $20 more and I would've been able to control the iPod from my HU.

Here is a pic of what my console looks like now. I drilled a hole and put the cable (and rubber grommet) through. Now I can just drop my iPod in there and go. Nobody knows because all the cables are hidden.

I will post pictures of what it looks like with the carpet tomorrow. I will take those pics and the ones of my new TWM short-shifter that I installed today.

look on the discountcarstereo.com website and they DO offer a aux-pod type adapter that lets you control the ipod from the hu and charge the ipod. i emailed and asked and its not just for the 6disc hu, its for all.
