Yeah, just do a search for "Scion" and "Amp" and it will come up. I think the guy
just posted this one in the past 48 hours, because there was nothing up there when
this thread started...I looked back then.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...spagename=WDVW

Now, it's been pointed out to me in a different thread, that this kit leaches off
the rear speaker outputs and there are no tru Line Level outputs on our headunits.
Which is conflicting information from what I got when I was asking about this kit.

If you are considering this kit, do yourself a favor and ask the guy to spell it out
for you. Because if this is just an adapter that leaches off the speaker lines, it's
no better then any other Hi-Level adapter out there.

In it's defence, it does sound good, I just wish someone could give me a straight
answer as to if our head units have line level outs or not!!!!!

ok....so back to my origional theory.....If you're not going to use a good quality converter(not a scosche or some POS) then the sound will benefit from an amp with Hi-Level inputs because they are like having a good converter built right into the amp.....the harness would probably still be better than a cheap converter unless it's actually "leaching" off the speaker leads which would cause an incorrect voltage that passes with signal, causing clipping from the amp.....

so here's my story and I'm sticking to it......if you want to use the factory HU, either use an amp with Hi-Level inputs or a GOOD QUALITY converter.....

I'm still miffed about getting mixed info now. I called the
dealership and they were clueless. I think I'm going to
E-mail the dude selling those harness kets and ask him once
again!

OK, I sent the guy a good clearly questioned E-mail, and hopefully he'll get back to me soon so we'll all know!

Oh no! Sorry bout that!
Anyway, thanks for the link Raven. From the picture it looks like this is indeed a set of harnesses with a HLA attached (that is what is under the shrinkwrap).
But if it sounds good, use it... that is what I always say...

your set up is the same "kit" from the same seller on ebay.

Im buying a Infinity Basslink, which comes with high level imputs to hook up to the rear speakers.

That harness you bought off ebay is converting speaker outputs to RCA's which then go to your amp.

However, the infinity basslink comes with high level imputs to hook up to my speakers, which does the same thing as your ebay harness, and saves me $50!

How much would I be looking to spend on the JL Clean Sweep or a similar quality product?

You really think your going to lose SO much sound quality using a cheaper converter? I mean, if your so worried about sound quality, you might as well save your money and get a good head unit. I have a Scosche converter and there is no loss of quality. . . atleast none that the human ear can detect. But, do what you want, its your money.
