that storage compartment below the A/C
While pulling out my stereo to add a much-needed subwoofer, I scratched the spring-loaded door to the little compartment between the A/C and ashtray. And by "scratched" I mean a lot of 'em.
The dealership says a new one--I guess the whole thing--would cost over $200 to replace. (Yeah, where do I sign?!)
For now I have painted it black. Not the most creative solution, but whatever.
Has anyone else "modded out" this door? Give me some ideas if you can. I'm a perfectionist, so I could not just keep it with the scratches showing. Small price to pay for getting decent sound, I guess.

I would also imagine you could pick up the door from a junk yard..........

As I was surfing through here earlier tonight I saw a mod done on the oven door....it looked nice..but for the life of me cannot remember who did it or where it was posted. To make a long story short..I think he did basically the same thing you did...so he got out his dremel..cut the bad parts out and made a scion logo...he also put some lights in the oven so when lit up...it looked pretty sharp...
