Default Subwoofer in right-side cargo area

I want to take out the foam box and replace it with a subwoofer when I get the xB. If I use fiberglass and mold it into every possible nook, including the foam which normally surrounds the spare, what kind of airspace can I get? I have a 12" sub and it's in a 1.5 cubic foot box right now. It needs a minimum of 1.25 and I think I'm going to have a lot of difficulty getting that much volume!

I've thought about using some sort of aperiodic vent and stuffing the enclosure with polyfill, but who else has done this? What kind of airspace did you get?

Thanks
-Matt

audioformz.com makes an enclosure similar to your idea that is a direct swap with the cargo area but it only has .7 cubic feet of internal space so im not sure how you could get 1.25 cubic feet of space.

try pm'ing mattross on this board.

he made his own box and got a 12" fosgate sub in it

They dont make a box for a 12, I asked them. : (

Check my profile, I got a 12 there. Had to build the box up a bit. it is about 1.3 cu before displacement.

you can definately hook a sub up to the stock hu.

i beleive you just have to get a line out converter from whatever kind of plug is on the back to a rca connection to hook up to the amp

I sent a message to mattross but he hasn't replied yet. I really want to know how big his box is, because it fits perfectly under the cargo cover (which I'll probably perforate somehow).
