Default subwoofers: questions and opinions

Ok - I'm satisfied with the sounds of the stock stereo, but I'd like to add subwoofers, and i felt the basooka one was too expensive. This brings me to a few questions

What is the difference between a single voice coil and a dual voice coil? Would it be better to get to single voice coils or one dual voice coil? What do you all think? give me a quick rundown about subs....thanks everybody

DVC and SVC have no advantages over eachother other than wiring..... lets say you have an amp that pushes 500watts RMS at one ohm.... There is no such thing as a SVC 1ohm sub (not that I've ever seen anyway)....so you would need to get either:
a) 2 SVC 2ohm subs to wire in parallel making one ohm (assuming the RMS on the sub handling is ~250watts)
b) 1 DVC 2 ohm sub (which means there are 2 voice coils at 2ohms each)...doing this will allow you to wire the voice coils in parallel making a 1 ohm load (RMS power handling on this single sub should be ~500watts)

if you were getting a 500watt at 1 ohm amp... and wanted 4 subs, You'd get 4 SVC 4ohm subs with an RMS handling of about 100-150....you'd wire all these subs in parallel as well...
