Default Supplies for 'glassing a box for the cargo cubby?

Hi all, does anyone know how much fiberglass and resin is needed to make a sub box (two 9Kv.2 D2's) in the cubby next to the spare? I don't really use it for anything and want to try to keep my install fairly stealth. I'll be using the black foam insert as a mold and using MDF for the top.

This will be my first attempt at fiberglassing anything, but thanks to the walkthroughs and posts that I've read on here and on ICIX I feel pretty confident that I can do it. Thanks.

i dont think you would need more than 3 quarts of resin and 1.5 yards of fiber. I saw that Advanced Auto sells a Gallon of resin for $33 which would prob be cheaper than buying three 1Qt's.

fiberglass mat is cheeper at wal-mart its $3.94 compared to your local autoparts that sell the same thing for $5.50 + you should be fine with just a gallon of resin, but make sure you pick yourself up some latex gloves because that resin doesnt like to come off your hands and a plastic drop cloth to keep the glass' and resin from getting on the floor, and the usuall aluminum foil, wax to make the mold come off easier, body filler, sandpaper, angled die grinder and roloc disks, and some sort of mask to wear when you do all the sanding, and some sort of containers to mix the resin in, you could use old milk jugs or antifreeze containers, just make sure to clean them and cut them in half, and some cheepy paint brushes to apply the resin, good luck and post us some pics then

honestly, why are you glassig it? i build a box that replaces the whole foam box and top out of 5/8 mdf, and got just over .75 cubic feet. I could have gotten a lil more if i had wanted. Honestly, i just built a glass encluser that fits inside the spare tire, and to make it solid enough so it does not flex under the pressure of the sub, you have to make it pretty thick. I think usinf maybe thinner mdf, then glassing the inside for strenght might be a better idea

I think I may use part of your idea. I now think I'm gonna build the sides out of 1/2" MDF glass the bottom and reinforce the MDF with a couple of layers. That should make it a lot simpler and quicker to do.
