Default A/T shift ***** ?

thinking about maybe replacing the stock automatic shifter cuz it's dead ugly and plain jane.

i was wondering if the xB auto would accept this type of shifter:

http://www.optionsauto.com/prodinfo.asp?number=CM-RA94

or would we have to use this kind: (says with overdrive)

http://www.optionsauto.com/prodinfo.asp?number=CM-RA105

just wondering about this or if anyone has done this yet.

I an just wondering what the point of keeping the OD swictch for anyway. I mean it is not if we are towing trailers.

My assumption is for folks that doa LOT of city driving. My ride is mostly highway, and I don't think I have ever need to turn OD off, unless of course I am doing something wrong.

O/D, is to turn the 4 speed auto into a 3 speed, for a short time, it frees up the engine, allowing it to produce a little more power and relieve stress so that strenious things like, going up large hills or trying to get up to speed a little quicker, is possible and doesnt hurt the engine, but O/D should not be off for prolonged periods of time, that damages the engine

and i was wondering if there is a shift **** that can be used to relocate the o/d button

hmmm ... i'm not a big fan of the light up *****.
i really want Razo though ... JDM is delicious.

i guess my question is, without any major modification to the shift stalk, would we be able to use a **** that DOESN'T use a button to change gear ?

There are numerous Automatic Shift ***** that do not use buttons to change gears. They are SPRING loaded!

So the Overdrive button is just a quick way of shifting back and forth between 4th and 3rd gear. When the Overdrive is ON, the transmision is in its 4th gear. But that gear is called Overdrive rather than 4th?

are the ones you are referring to the gate transmissions ? (like found on luxury/mid-range cars)

I'm asking which kinds of shift ***** could replace the xB/xA ones. From what has been said, I'm guessing only ***** that include the gear-change button w/ overdrive would be feasible without major modification.

I say, go with whatever shift **** you like. The O/D switch is electric and can be relocated anywhere.
