Thinking of going the Type-R route?
I am having a custom fiberglass enclosure made for 3-10" Alpine Type-R's but really not sure on what amp I should get to power them... Any of you audio experts have any opinions on what I should use to power these babies would be appreciated!!
I have a Kenwood Excelon HU to go along with this setup!!

I agree, There is a couple ways you can power these with alpine amps.
If you want to go with a single amp setup, i would reccomend the PDX-1.1000 , its small and does 1000 watts @ 4 and 2 ohms. It will run you anywhere from 7-900 bucks depending on where you get it. If you dont like the PDX, go with the MRD-M1005, which is also good enough to push all of those. But it only puts out 1000 watts @2 ohms. (which isnt bad, you just need the right ohm subs)
Or if you want to do multiple amps (1 amp per sub) you could go with the MRD-M605, which would run you about 3-500 depending on where you go. You could also go with their MRP series amps, and do 3 MRP-M450's which would run 2-400 depending on where you go.. Theres lots of choices with alpine. ;)
Edit: My reccomendation would definately be the PDX-1.1000.. Less wiring, easy to install, and its so small!

not realy... cause they peak 1500 watts each... so i think 1000 watts each is perfect and i also think over powering the sub is better then under powering a amp. (1) type -R 10" is only $150 and the PDX- 1.1000 is $750. a sub would be easier on the wallet to replace
