they keep the bulbs in place and gives the hole a finished look...

One in each vet (4)
One in each door pocket (the handle you use to close it from the inside, 4)
One in each door handle (4)
One in each of the hooks (2)
One in each of the front door speakers (2)
One in each of the handles above the door (4)
That gives me all 20 feel free to suggest other locations...that is juat a list of what I am thinking now because I can't come up with anything better. Let me know what you are thinking!
I put one at the bottom of the door panel facing down. Gives a nice blue dot when you open the door. I'm going to do two more to make 3 and give it the VIP look, but only when you open the door...
i so want to do this to but the thought of taking anything apart and not knowing anything about it is just so intimidating, anyone live near san antonio wanna hook me up? or know where i could get some one to do this with out paying a million dollars???
I felt the same way but you just got to be careful when taking it apart...once I decided to actually take mine apart it was really easy. But then again that might just be the xB I don't know about the tC. Just look for a thread that has a dash removal for a tC. Mine is as simple as 2 screws and pulling gently to get it off.
LED DIY:
select location, drill hole, insert grommet from front of hole, insert LED in back of hole until it seats in grommet. Ground neg, connect all positives together (assuming multiple LEDs) and run to your switch, then to your power source. Done.
I would also suggest using inverted tip LEDs in the vents.
Most of my lighting is connected to a switch. My 5 cupholder LEDs are wired into the shift indicator light on the shift console, the normal mood lighting is on one switch and the show lights are on another

If you attach them to a power line that is only on when the car is on (or in accessory position) then you will have to deal with them being on in the daylight, which you may or may not mind.
Just a few things to think about.
Yea I decided to get extra wire and put them all to one switch so if I get pulled over or if I by chance don't want them on I can just flick them off. I will probably put the switch at the 3rd switch panel on the center console next to my fog lights switch.
