Wanting door gasket replacement advice for '06 xB
I plan on keeping my '06 xB until at least 2020. It's looks quite new and is in excellent condition, however, I'm hearing wind more and more and door closings are beginning to sound clunky. I'm wanting to replace the door gaskets so that when I close the door my ears bleed.
Aside from getting the correct gasket for all three doors I'm concerned with how such gaskets are packed and shipped. Specifically, I want the new gaskets to be in an uncompressed condition the entire length of the strip. In other words, if a gasket is packaged incorrectly it can have permanent bends that don't uncompress upon installation.
I'm also concerned with the shelf life of a new gasket and whether it might have been sitting on a shelf since '06 (neoprene loses its springiness over time). Possibly there is an after market newly manufactured gasket that will fit the xB?
Suggestions?
Thanks, Kerry
