Default what's the dangers of the amp in the rear storage?

I just got a rockford amp and I've seen a lot of people installing the amp in the rear storage compartment of their tC's. Being a first time sound system buyer, I have heard that your amp needs a good supply of air in order to not over heat. By having my amp in my storage area, do i run the rist of overheating and possibly damaging the amp? Where should I install it?

you possibly could depending on the amp, the amp i have right now has an automatic shut off switch. So when the amp reaches a certain temperature it will shut off to prevent damage to the amp. Some amps come w/ fans or what not to keep the amp kool. If you dont want to mount it in the storage then you can either mount if on the back of the seat or on the box. Its really up to you & what you would prefer to do.

in the bucket is fine just add a fan or two to keep it cool , alot more stealth and you can still easily fold down seats

you should be fine if its just for your interior speakers. If its for a sub and you plan on having your sub cranked for long periods of time (1 hour+) id wire in a fan to keep it cool. If not you should be fine. If you notice your amp cutting in/out thenyou def need to do something, otherwise you risk burning out your amp.

In my xB, both of my amps are were the spare tire used to be. Only on the hottest of days will the sub amp shut off temporarily. A small fan should be fine.

you could always fab up a aluminium box for the amp and use rtv (silicone sealant) tp water proof the box...

I'd be careful....Rockford amps get hot very easily, but I don't know about their newest amps....if going with the storage compartment, I'd def. get an intake and exhaust fan(2 fans ttl.).....
