how do you wire up an led. all the ones that I am finding off of google are actual bulbs that you screw in to a socket. Is there a certin type of LED that I need to search for.

Sorry if this question seems stupid I have never messed with interior lights at all.

I used the VARAD LED's, there's 4 LED's per set. I drilled a hole on the bottom of the cupholders where it's not visible to anyone, about the size of the LED bulb. You can probably get them here:

ok I see. now another question

I have the interior cathode lights hooked up. I have 4 different sets. 1 set under each seat. Can I hook all of the cathode and leds to the same power wire so I can have them all on one switch. Dont know if that would be too much for the fuse slot to hold.

I have a 3 amp fuse in the box and then a 30 amp on the inline fuse.

Thanks for all of the help people.

Yes, you can hook them all together.

I bought some LEDs from this guy on eBay and they are great. Well made and ready to wire up...

You're going to want to point those LEDs toward the front of the cupholder, not up from the bottom so you don't get glare on the windshield.

I use these LEDs for my installs: http://www.autodirectsave.com/LED_lights_wired.asp

Cool thanks all for the help. Found some on ebay gonna check Autozone as well though. The shipping on these leds are outrageous on ebay. Dont need that many so I may just buy a kit from Autozone.

Thanks!

5mm. They're smaller and easier to stick in those nooks and crannies.

I'm using the 7 color changing evil eyes by lite glow... it comes with its own controller to make it cycle or select colors. you can get it for 20$ for 4 or much cheaper on ebay. my only problem right now is where and how to mount the controller so that it looks oem.. that and how/where to mount the leds in the cupholders.

I'm afraid that if i got with the oem point the leds will protrude too much. I was thinking instead to tuck it in the corner close to the floor and get a clear plastic ring to line bottom with.. that way even without a drink.. the cupholder will light up...

Default cup holder led

I got my leds from Varad on ebay. Installed them in the "corners" of each cup holder with the bulb pointing toward each door. I spliced into the light power wire from the automatic shift plug under the console so they are on when the (head)light switch is on. Be careful when manipulating the led itself dont bend the wire at the base of the bulb as it snaps off real easy.
