Wiring a switch for some lighting
Hey all, I have a few of the GSW-49 led switches that I am putting in my box for some lighting. I'm not a complete wiring newb, but I haven't done much wiring in cars.
I have read that tapping the cigarette lighter is one way of getting power for the switch. Since it is only going to power 1 set of lights for now thats what I have tried.
Everything is going well, except when I solder the wires to the switch and flip it on it pops the fuse. It is a 3 post switch, and on the back of the package it has the terminals labeled like this
1. blank - no info
2. Load, charge
3. Neutral
So assuming that the neutral was ground thats where I put that wire, and I put the power wire to the charge terminal.
What am I doing wrong?
I have searched every forum, google, ect on a DIY with some pics on how to wire the switch the way I am trying it and I can't find anything

You using the switches for lighting themselves or to turn lighting off and on? I found I think advance or auto zone sells skull led illuminated switches and had been meaning to wire it up to the knock out about the drivers side knee blank on the xa, but lost the switch. When I need power, I tap the acc fuse.
I guess maybe you did what I saw someone in shop 11 years ago did. He hooked one lead of a switch to the positive lead of the batery, the other lead tothe negative and when he turned it on both wires went up in smoke.
