xA aux clarification
I've searched on this matter and believe I know the answer, but I've never gotten a clear answer on this. I have a 2006 xA with the stock radio. The radio has an AUX button and there is a AUX jack in the shift console. However, it does not work. We've plugged an MP3 player into the jack and still can't get the radio to switch to AUX mode. Is it possible that the car came from the factory with the jack and the button on the stereo, but it's not connected? Do you have to buy the $75 adaptor or is there something simple that needs to be done? I apologize for asking something similar to several posts, but none of them addressed this that I could tell. Thanks for the help.

they may have forgot to connect something. there's should be 3 plugs connected on the back of the radio.
but for certain there must be something plugged into the aux port before the radio will switch to aux.

i'd rather just do it myself... it's just one plug..
granted a couple of screws and clips to remove the dash.. but nothing extremely difficult... should take a few minutes

Really, uh, "odd" the dealer blamed the factory since none of the cars come with the radio installed.
Bottom line, the '06s with the aux jack have one more connector that needs to be plugged into the radio, and it seems to be missed fairly often but the dealer's installer. Guess they are too used to the old setup.
When the AUX jack doesn't work, that is the usual problem - in fact, I haven't heard of any other problem causing the AUX not to work.
