Default xa ebrake help please

Does anyone now HOW to get the plastic handle off the ebrake on an 06 XA. I pulled back the rubber boot thinking there would be some sort of hex screw or something but I dont see anything. I need to get it off to replace it with this...

I got it to match my shifter ****.

Thanks all
-Mike

Mike, I'm sorry to say that I can't help you. but, be prepared...

there's a bunch of nimrods out there who will argue over this being called an emergency brake or a parking brake. they'll chime in on how to spell brake. they'll even argue how many wheels are effected by this lever you pull up on. all the while never helping you w/ your question.

do you have the service manual or the microfiche? perhaps it's in there. if you don't I do - I'll look. and get back w/ you.

I looked at the microfiche and it only tells you how to remove the parking brake, but not the plastic end. Here is the link maybe it will help you out.

Yeah it may have to be, guess you never know till you try thou. You might wait a little bit longer and see if anybody else chimes in before you start ripping it all apart.
