Default Xb AUX Input Hum w/ Satellite

I know this has been discussed before and I've searched and read everything I could so sorry if this has been already answered.

Pluging my Sirius Satellite radio into the AUX input creates a loud hum that follows the RPMs. This is completely gone when I unplug the adapter and use battery power. To solve this, I purchased the ground loop inverter from Radio Shack and it removes all but a very minor trace of the hum. Unfortunately, I can tell an audio quality difference using the inverter. The sound seems dull and quieter.

So my question is this. Does the Crutchfield inverter do a better job of removing the hum without ruining my sound quality than the Radio Shack inverter? Is there another route I can take to get my sound quality back without the annoying hum?

Thanks.

I ordered the Crutchfield and hear no other issues - I say that having gone to college for 3 1/2 as a music major so I like to think my ears are extremely sensitive.

Hey Maria, how much was that filter? The high end in my box sounds terrible when I use my iPod in conjunction with the power adapter.

It ran me $17.99 from Crutchfield - there may be better available but I've had no complaints w/ this one w/ my sirius or Ipod.

I have the same one from Crutchfield and it is great. I can run my Sirius with no issues.
