Default XB replacement Dash..

Does anyone kow where I could buy a replacement dash piece? I have searched for it and all I come up with are dash accent kits..I need the whole thing. I tried to paint mine and I think that the platic is contaminated in two spots. I have resanded and resanded and used real good adhesion promoter. all my other pieces seemed to work fine....I kind of want to avoid the dealerships just because they are priced very high...

Thanks for your help..

either gonna be top-of-the-line or bottom-of-the-barrel (stealership or junkyard)

why don't you glass it?

Before you can get any paint to bond to a plastic like what the dash is made of not only do you need to sand it you need to PRIME it. use a plastic primer like Mathews Ti-coat and then another primer a base and then a clear coat .

also before painted clean the surface with denatured alcohol.

THanks for the info, I used both primer and adhesion promoter. It worked great on everything but that dash piece.. And it was only two spots on the part that were bad. I cleaned it too, with wax and grease remover, I also used fusion paint. Well that is what I used on all the other pieces the dash piece is still in primer I am giving it time to kick and make sure it is set before I break into sanding it. Thanks for the info

scroll down on the OTG opening page and it says there's a 1 piece dash cover coming soon for the xB. http://www.onetongarage.com/ is that what you're looking for?

Designed to fit over your Scion xB's dash and instrument cluster, this 1-piece fiberglass cover is paintable and allows you to add a radical custom look to your interior without having to remove, and sand and paint your stock dash. Installation of the cover is a snap, and it is just as easy to remove to return your car back to stock. The cover will come unpainted, but will also be available pre-painted in factory Scion colors.
THIS ITEM IS "COMING SOON"

I'd suggest calling Van and inquire about it.

Just so you know, the center piece is about $200 from a dealer.

I repainted my ***** with the method described , had no problme , might suggest just buying the carbon fiber overlay and painting that , i got mine from scionparts people i think it was 130.00 .

always make sure what every you paint that you put a clear coat over it cause paint by itself will not withstand use.

I had to get the dash and all of the controls on it after my headunit caught on fire. They didn't cover anything. Even worse, those parts cost almost $400 AFTER employee discount!
