Default Help - Can't Find Shocks For my XB

Thanks for any suggestions for a smoother ride in my xb. Seems no one has any Koni shocks in stock for the xb. Any one know of any or is there another brand that might work well? Thanks for any ideas...Zen!

I got my Koni's from LTB. It took a month due to the demand, but WELL worth it. Running Tien's with Koni rear set to max soft. Nice. Planning to order the fronts soon.

How long have you owned them and what type of drop are you running with these shocks and struts?

I have a pair of KONI rear shocks on my xA with TEIN H-Techs. I left it max soft also, and I loved the ride rigtaway! The rolling/movement on bumps and potholes reduced a lot. The front/rear suspension works together since then. I have this setup for 5 months so far, and I love them more and more each day. I am considering to order the KONI front struts too (for X'Mas).

BTW, anyone has a full set of KONI struts and shocks aon xA/xB and willing to share the experience?

I've been running TRD front struts since i had the car. (Friend of mine donated them to me). And just recently swapped out the stock rear shocks with TRD rear shocks. So i've been running FULL TRD suspension for only a short while now, but I LOVE IT! I'm running them on 2+" drop on tanabe df210's. They handle the aggresive spring rate like warm oatmeal!!! Feels VERY good! The ride feels just like my brothers cobra, very responsive and very connected to the road. The waydo's are twice as stiff as the stock suspension if not more.

You'd def love them!

"TRD" ____ is over rated.

If your going to get the "TRD" springs, just buy the Eibach's, same thing, better price.
Same with shocks.

However, if you want premium quality and product for the best price Koni is where it's at.

Koni isn't a re-lable like TRD, and has more potential than a product your just paying to have the name "TRD" on your car.

Sidenote: I sell Koni's through our parts counter.

Alot of people on here replace the rears first with Koni Yellows, and then do the fronts when if/they blow. The rears by themselves are only about $200, and people say just doing that makes a big difference in the ride quality. I plan to try it myself in a few months...

The stock front strut is Tokico as well. It's o.k. in quality. Better than the rear KYB, IMHO. Tokico makes a ton of stock and aftermarket shocks, but this is not necessarily a guarantee of quality.....No doubt, the TRD's are pretty reasonable performance shocks. However, I recall some SL members looking for a "smoother ride" changing out the TRD's back to stock since they were "stiffer" than stock. I have not had first hand experience with TRD's so I cannot vouch for this.

Those with TRD's should detail the differences from stock and how this relates to a smoother, more comfortable ride. I don't normally equate a Mustang Cobra as a smooth riding car. I assume the TRD's are more than just stiffer version of stock....at least I hope so.

My rear Konis are shipping from LTB's west coast distributor as we speak. They might have a few unspoken for sets...
