OK H-Techs Springs Arrive Today! Will be installing this weekend, reviewing this guide again. It does not look too hard. Rear Shocks arrive this weekend or Monday, so it may be apart twice. Hopefully won't take too long, and the weather will be OK.

I guess i am like freakishly strong.. but when i was doing the drivers side, I pulled the axle out of the transmission. The boot and verything came off. Anyone else have this problem.

no, not to burst your bubble (lol)... but you dont have to be freakishly strong to pull out an axle nowadays. mine just pretty much fell out. but, i didnt tear the boot, i got lucky.

all i did to get it back in was twist it back and forth while gently pushing it back in. it should go back without any problems... except if you tear the boot

good luck

I just dropped my xB on Sportlines, took me about 2 hrs total, and that was including messing around with two of my boys and trying to show them how it's done. Looks awesome, I'm VERY happy with the results. This can be done by anyone with reasonable mechanical skills.

thought i'd add my experience. back springs were a breeze, just like everyone says. front driver took me almost two hours start to finish! did em by myslef. front passanger took less than 30mins, must have got used to it, ha. i did use a spring compressor since i was by myself, though i would recomond one anyways since the spring can be quite dangerous once the top bolt is undone. i have to say though, this was way easier than when i did my tc spring install, that took me almost nine hours spanning three days, wew!

just installed df210's on saturday.back took about 20mins. front about 1 1/2 hrs. first one about an hr.including removing wipers and cowl.secondside 1/2 hr.wipers were harder to get off than the springs. didn't need compressor. held strut with foot and spring coils with hands .my buddy loosen the nut and spring pushe dmy fingers apart about 1 inch.finished product looks great .i am just running stock wheels/tires and the gap is minimal.

thanks for this write up! me and my uncle both did ours yesterday and took 2 hours for both of our cars, and we didn't even need a coil spring compressor. it definitely helps having someone to help you doing the fronts though

since i have only basic socket wrenches (not even an impact gun to help take my wheels off), i'm guessing it would be more cost effective to just take the car to the shop for an install than to buy all the equipment i would need ?

oh no. just read the sizes on the DIy and buy those. You'd be cheaper even after buying a torque wrench and breaker bar.

Or better yet, inventory what you have and what you need then go price out the tools.

hmmm my only concern is with taking off my wheels cuz those techs at the dealership really put those lug nuts on crazy tight. last time i took my car to the tuner shop, they broke a wheel stud cuz the lug nut was put on so tightly .... any suggestions on what wrench/gun to use to take wheels off ?
