okay I was looking at the installtion manual for some Teins I plan on getting for my car (SS-P coilovers) and came across this:

what the hell??? anyone know anything about this? I thought these were some desent produts but now its got me wondering?? how safe are these? I drive my daughter around in my car

Almost any aftermarket product is going to have a similar warning sticker. It's part of the lawsuit game. It's basically so that if you get pulled over by the cops and they say something about your suspension, you can't go to the company and say it is their fault. Tein and other companies do this so in the event that anything goes wrong, whether it is a cop pulling you over or you're racing on the track they basically won't be liable. It's pretty stupid but it's so they can cover their behinds. Now as far as the safety issues, I don't think that is a problem especially since the amount of people on this site are using them. I really haven't heard anything bad about them. Look at it this way, most of the time you only hear the extremes about a product on a site like this. Either they are crazy good or super horrible. I've only heard good things. That little label on page 8, is more of a disclaimer.

^^^ what Ghost said. it's just part of the disclaimer legality junk. get your SS-P's. they'll be worth it.

Agreed, TEIN, and many others do that to cover their @ss.
They don't know what's legal and not in certain areas so they assume that doing something could potentially be illegal and leave the decision to the buyer.
Everyone knows that coffee is hot, but they have to print it on there... it's a disclaimer at best.
Tein is known for making quality products, I wouldn't shy away.

that is what I always thought...I think the alarm went off in my head cause it wasn't "fine print" it was stated very boldly and matter-a-factly....like "duh...any fool knows these are only for show"

on another note anyone know if the EDFC will fit/work on the xb??

I know the Tein xB was using the hybrid dampers and the EDFC. And since you're looking at the SS-P I'm pretty sure they do, might wanna check the manufacturer though.

Yes...the SS-P's were the only application other than the drift and track spec coilovers that are compatible with the EDFC...it's not the car it's compatible with...it's the coilover

lol. money is always to be spent! ha ha . theyre much safer than some of the "coilovers" i've seen on cars. so as said above don't worry.
