Is anyone Rolling on Widened Steelies?
Man keep us updated on your gas mileage as well with those new steelies. I'd heavily consider them but I'm more about being practical at times. I just can't sacrifice the already bad gas mileage the xB has over looks. If it affects it much, then I guess it's good to settle with the Work Equip 01s.
So anyone know if these wheels can have their lips polished and the centers painted? I guess a polish and shine shop may be able to... but any one know what it could cost roughly? Sorry... clueless on what can be done on steel wheels.
Otherwise, looks great guys!

i'd either have them powder coated a matte silver
or
chrome the lip/dish and have the centers powdercoated either black/red/or silver,
dish wheels imho look the best with polished or silver-colored lips.

yeah; I just realized I found it on the page before. However, he said on the previous page he got 5.25 (front) and 4.75 (rear). Is this not the case?
Regardless, does the setup rub? Are your fenders rolled? How's the handling?

dunno if this will clear it up for you but magic told me to "tell the lady you want 4 15X8 wheels. 2 with 5in backspacing and 2 with 5.25 back spacing. "

The cost to widen a one piece cast wheel is ridiculous, regardless of material. Not to mention the fact that the wheel strength will be compromised to some degree. In the end it is probably less expensive to just buy a whole new set of cast wheels.
Then you move on to two piece wheels. Depending on the material wheel shops can either "widen" or "rehoop" the wheel to give you more width. Widening usually involves cutting the existing hoop about the circumference and adding a filler piece between the two existing sections of hoop. A rehoop is where the existing hoop is replaced with a brand new hoop. That option is by far the strongest, and usually most cost effective. I have had this done on many occasions with billet wheels.
And finally we have three piece wheels. The nicest aspect to a three piece wheel is that they are considered modular. Comprised of a center section, an inner hoop and an outer hoop, individual components can be swapped to achieve the best fitment for a reasonable cost. Width can be added or removed very easily to either side of the wheel (or both) by simply swapping out the section(s) you want modified.
