It might help the paint but it seems like there is a lot of nooks and crannies on the wheels where you could end up with wax residue and that would not look so hot..

damn thats a deep dish! but its not a mesh style wheel so you should be able to just polish it out real good, or maybe stay away from the smaller parts like the ones around the bolts by the edge? not sure man, they will look sick no matter what tho!

The paint on your wheels is just like the paint on your car. It needs to be waxed regularly. Because of the heat your wheels endure, you should use a wax that can take the heat. A good choice is Collinite 875 Insulator Wax, which can be found locally at Advanced Auto in the Marine section.

I use the Poor Boys World sealent. Great stuff.

I don't currently have wheels on the xb, but on previous cars I would wax them. The only thing that I noticed were they were easier to clean since there was a layer between the clearcoat and brake dust. If your wheels are easy to do, I would do it

The Collinite that I mentioned you can get for $10 and wax your whole car and wheels with it for 10 years and still have some left over.

I wax mine, usually I use Meguiars cleaner wax and sometimes finish them with Meguiars Gold class. My rims are painted black and the polished lip has clearcoat on it.

The only Con I can think of is that it's a little bit of a pain in the ___ to get it all off, the Pro is that brake dust seems to come off a bit easier since it isn't sticking so bad to the paint.
