Cracked Windshield
Well the replacement windshield I got from Toyota lasted about a month, which only included about a 2 weeks worth of driving. It basically had the same L shaped crack starting at the top of the windshield and going towards the passenger side...cracked when I wasn't driving it. Toyota is going to replace it again...thank god. Hopefully this one last for more than a month. Geez two windshields with a lifespan of about a month. This could get expensive. We'll see how long this next one last.
is my car even safe in the garage
No, it's not even safe in the garage. Mine broke while sitting overnight in the garage clean as can be after I just washed and dryed it in the driveway and then pulled it into the garage for safe keeping.....NOT.....safe enough...
As you know, that happened a month after I got it. I was too lazy to change my own oil last month and took it to the dealership for my first free oil change. While I was there I asked the Service Manager to look at my windshield and told him how it broke exactly as above. I told him that I think it was a stress fracture and he said he would look at it. After my oil was changed, he said he had another windshield on order for me. They replaced my windshield the following week....FREE OF CHARGE!!! It would have set me back $572 dollars if I had to pay for it.
I just asked nicely and if they wouldn't fix it, oh well. It sure didn't hurt to ask. Mine cracked overnight in the garage from the windshield molding and formed a slight "L". I know it wasn't from a rock. IF my windshield had a chip or some type of impact mark, then I would have to suck up and pay for it myself, no matter how much that would have sucked. Anyways, my dealership took great care of me and I appreciate that.

I belive we should start collecting info on this, including pictures. If enugh pics of the same types of flaws start showing up, I am sure it would make a whole lot smoother when the information is required, to show that we are not full fo b.s.
