DON'T buy the full ebay kits
People...don't get the full body kits on ebay which are the Urban Ryder, Rebel, and Cosmos which come from the same people. These kits were made off the first gen bB and are 2"+ too short (width) in the front and rear. I went by to check em out and put them against the xB and they were SOOOOOOOO OFF.
But if you don't mind cutting a body kit in half and fiberglassin 2" in between which will run the average person $4-500 not including the $5-700 it will cost for a paint job then go ahead.
Just be warned

I appreciate the heads up. I've been seeing a lot more kits showing up on there and was wondering if they were quality kits or not.
Thanks for watching out for other ScionLifers.

Don't get me wrong...these kits are AWESOME quality and look WAY better in person than they look in the ebay pics. They look plain in the pics but in person...oh man, they are clean looking kits and really flow nicely with no waves in the fiberglass so they would be the ____ if you didn't have to cut em up.
I'm just glad I found out before I slanged a few of em.

The only major difference between gen 1 and 2 bB's are the bumper lengths and plate placement. Like I said in a previous thread, Gen 1 bB kits should fit the xB without any glassing if you remove the 5mph bumper reinforcement bar (front and rear respectively) How do I know you ask? I'm running a gen 1 kit and no fiberglassing was needed with the exception of filling in the front tow-hole. (appx 2"x2")

The reason those knockoff bodykits aren't made to accomodate the usdm xBs is because they were copies of kits made for the zenki (early model) bBs from japan. Thing is, you gotta remember that the main intent with those kits is to provide the unscrutinizing consumer with a kit that is as cheap as possible... and in doing so, corners are cut, and you really just can not expect the best quality from a product that's MADE to be cheap. Trust me on this... my friends are buddies with a lot of the overseas knockoff bodykit manufacturers, and that's just the way they do it. A lot of times, these knockoff kits may look good in raw form, but the truth usually becomes apparent when you start to fit it up to the car, and realize that some flanges are not aligned correctly, mounting points are a little off, and as for the surface finish, the blemishes will usually not appear till after you paint the pieces. Even the more expensive, knock-off kits will require quite a bit of work to fit, and finish before painting to achieve a decent result, but those knock-off companies usually thrive on unscrutinizing consumers who may not be too concerned with nitpicking the way their kits look... my major gripe (besides the fact that they are stealing designs) is that people usually think they are getting a good deal on a cheap body kit, but then are faced by the harsh reality of paying a body shop a bit extra to get that kit to fit and look right (it's also unfortunate that there's a number of body shops out there that don't care to take the extra steps to do all that work... some just paint the kits with minimal prep work, bolt them on, then send people on their way)
Naw dude...they just didn't know cuz the guy who imported the kits that they bought (to copy) didn't tell them anything about the problem so it's not their fault.
I dunno if the kits are still for sale but I told them about it and they were real happy that I did.
