debadged my xb yesterday took about 10 min used the floss method did not use any goo gone or heat and it was only about 35 or so outside when i did it. it makes for a much cleaner look

What way would you recommend putting them back on? I want to remove them and have a buddy paint them matte black with an epoxy paint then put them back on in the same position. What would you recommend using to mark where to put them back on (w/ out damaging the paint) and what type of adhesive.
My box is Black Sand and I want my badges to just look slightly off from that, not the blaring silver that they are. Has anyone tried something like this?

oooh man,i ____ed up! i used a thin string i had to take off my tc sign,then peeled off some glue. after i used some bug and tar remover to clean it up,but i dont know if its the rag i used or the remover but it looks really ugly,its smooth.but you can see alot of scratches and like a dull paint look where the tc emblem was.. someone help me,i tried to wax it ,no satisfying results though..any help please.
