Default headlight bulb brightness

i was toying with the idea of maybe puttin in some HIDs for my box, but then i saw the sylvania silverstar and sylvania silverstar ultras on sale at pepboys. they also had some other off brand ones that said "like HIDs" that had a more blue bulb and the tip was silver looking.

how much brighter are these? anybody got pics or comparisons? does the silver looking tip make the bulbs brighter?

all i got to say is if you got the money, go HID...it is truely night and day, i have 2 sets in my box, my headlights and foglights are HID and even with the 35% tint on my headlights and fogs they are still brighter and better than any other headlight i have ever had

Default found something

i always seem to do this, i think up a question and ask it hoping to talk to someone, and then i search and find what i'm looking for or at least close to it.

found a thread with a comparison to stock lights. though the comparison is on a tc, the difference should still be seen on my xB huh?

I almost got the silverstar ultra, but got Hella's instead, they are real bright and I like them, everyone else thinks they are real bright as well I still want to put in HIDs though.

sorry don't know much about all these mod stuff but did you need to change any fuses to compensate for the brighter bulbs?
