Default headlight help please

quick question, i found some silverstar 9004 ST/2 Headlights at my grandpa's and was wondering if they would fit in a 2006 Scion xB and my dad said the higher voltage will melt the components around the bulb?

well, before I can tell you if they will cause damage, i need to know what kind of housing you're putting them in. are you putting them in the stock housings (the headlights that came with the car)? if so, they won't fit, but if they did, they wouldn't melt anything.
