Default which HID'd are "best"....?

OK, just ordered the new projectors and I want to add HID's. I went to the sponsored sales section, and of course everyone selling there has "the best HID's on the market"... Well I want to know which kit you people would recomend and why. I will be adding 8000k into the headlights, but I want to get the best HID's out there that can do this for me... thanks or any input...

Why do you need HIDs? Is it worth the money just to look cool? Personally, I think the stock halogen bulbs are just fine.

my past few cars (and current) have had (or have them).. so once you get used to them you want to have them. Why would you even ask that? I think because its the $$ to buy them, well lets just say I have enough to purchase the lights if I would like

glad you think that the stock ones are just fine, I guess thats why baskin robbins has 31 flavors....

Okay. I just don't think it's a good "value". Good luck!

which projectors did you get? Because mainly all of the aftermarket projectors are notorious for having poor lighting.

these: New Black projectors

think they are well constructed based on the pics that others have posted, and they have a nice cut off lines for HID's to boot.....

Yes they may not be a good value to you, but I drive about 150+ miles EVERYDAY, and I drive a lot at night, so the added value of being able to see more/better is very well worth it to me. And like I said, once you have HID's and have used them for years, then you will never want to go back to Halogen, and it has been bugging me for the few months that I have had the xB without the HID's. I didnt buy them until I found a nice aftermarket headlights with a nice cutoff line across the top to put the HID's into, until these came out and I have seen them in other peoples xb..... sorry to ramble....

I do 250-300+ a day starting very early and ending late, when I swapped to HID's I can't imagine why all cars don't have them stock! I angled the lights way down, don't get flashed and still have more light on the road then I did before, and yes they look great too but I like to see where I am going as well!

This is mine, stock housings F1Spec Kits @ 6000K.

Okay, man. I'm just saying that halogens provide 90% of the performance for about 5% of the price of HIDs

Probably because they cost more. Therefore, in order to offer them as standard equipment, the automakers would have to increase the price to you, the consumer. It doesn't make much sense from a marketing POV...particularly for an econobox like the Scion.

I agree with you, that the xb is an econobox and I wouldnt expect it to come with HID's, it would increase the price by 200-300 which is a significant increase based on how much it costs. But the halogens being 90% like HID isnt true, I would say 60-70% worse than HID's. And for a few hundred I will gladly pay to have that 30-40% better visibility at night, you can never be too safe or be able to see too much at night. Anyways this is getting way off topic.... Let me put it to you this way: If YOU were rich (and I am by NO way implying I am rich), and could afford to buy a Ferrari (or insert your favorite car here), would you buy it?? Yes you probably would because you could afford it, its not like you are waisting your money because its what you want, I can afford the HID's and I want them because I see the value in having them...

Thats all I will post in regards to why I am buying HID's or why I see that value in being able to see better at night (even if it is only 10% better by your terms)...

carry on

I have the "best" kits! then again I am biased but I do run them myself on my personal ride.. check them out in the sponsered sales forum https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=112925 or on my website.
What makes them better? Never say price cause that can always be beaten but I am offering them shipped at a reasonable price, I stand behind all kits with a 1yr warranty, all SL members get them with a relay harness included so all concerns about stock wiring are gone! Ballasts are 100% waterproof and again they are nice kits! PM me with any ?'s.

thx for the offer, but unless you are willing to sell them to me for a steal (like $100) which I dont think you will do then I would prefer to go new.. if you are willing to sell for that little how old are they?
