How to bake projector headlights on my XB!!!!!!
Just like the subject says I really need to find out how to do this! My right front projector headlight has water in it and I need to reseal it all. I have searched all over the web on how to do this and their is nothing (that I have found) that shows how to do this for the XB. If someone gives me instructions then I am willing to make a DIY with pictures. I just really need to get this done ASAP! I know that it is probably easy but I dont know what temp, how long, what to use to keep if from melting on the tray, etc. I really appreciate it!
see this in tech....

I guess it wouldn't but why not post a question on here and see if anyone has specific to the scion answer? And plus I had questions to ask and since I am already a member here I found it easier to ask them on here.

Sorry to sound redundant but wont the hot surface melt the lights? The reason I keep asking is that I saw one write up for the wrx and they said put a towel on the baking sheet and then the lights on that.....but to me that sounds like a fire waiting to happen....especially since he baked for 30 minutes on the towel...
Here is the oven method on stock lights. Shouldn't be too much different. I just put the light right on the rack, and no melting occurred. My fingers are the only thing that melted...
I suppose the plastic might melt if it was a cheap plastic. The best thing to do is keep an eye on it while its in the oven.

Oven Method is very easy, i think you put the time too 225 for about 12 minutes on each headlight, than just pry up the latches one by one, and pull it will come off very easily, i did this with my stock headlights to clear, and it worked perfect.. but be sure to press it back on reallly hard, because otherwise it will fog up and leak alot, like is happening now to my stock driver side, its starting to fog up
what does anyone recommend on sealing it with?
Hmm StarSk8er l have alomst the same problem execpt mine fog up But i'm confused with bakeing them and reseal them with the same glue it came with. That's the OEM glue. from the OG head lights, The lights that we have are aftermarket. If they are foging up or getting water inside it's because the glue or silicon is not as good as the original. It seems like baking them might not work using the inferior material that it comes with. Rallying the scion told me to use RTV silicone glue. to reseal them after opening them up I think this might work he said RTV can be bought at any hardware store, or auto store, he bought it at NAPA, it has a gray/silver look to it. comes in many color, depending on its useage.
what do you think?
what do you think?
I was thinking about the same thing. I think if he says that silicone will work then I will probably try it since it can't be any worse than whats on there stock. I really want to take out the yellow plastic piece inside the lights when I do this but then again that would mean I would have to bake the other headlight that is sealed fine...... hmmmm....
