its funny on the older VW mk2 GTIs we always did this mod in reverse so the wiper would lay down.I did my son's car last summer.

Another question.

Is that mod really JDM??? I think that is hidious. Why have your wiper sticking up like that all the time. Different doesn't always mean good and maybe thats why you don't see many people doing it.
1. let's see their is one wiper in the rear hence it is a single wiper
2. you are modifying it so it is called a mod
3. 1+2=single wiper mod
4. IMO negative comments aren't needed but we get them anyways
5. If you noticed mods changed this to rear wiper mod now hope that is better for ya

I would love to shave it but on a tight budget and besides I actually use it
Use it for what? in the 9 months I've owned the box, I have NEVER turned on my rear wiper. I couldn't even tell you if it works or not.

As soon as I can get the money together to do the body kit and body work I want to get done in one shot, that rear wiper is gone like yesterday.

best tool to use for the tabs, is a weed puller, serious. because in the autobody world the actual trim pull tool, looks exactly like it, but prolly alot more expensive.. http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....re&dir=catalog sorta

So... anyone want to send me their removed wiper? I use mine almost every day - only complaint is that it doesn't clean enough of the glass...

I used an old fork and widened the space between 2 prongs a little to remove the tabs on the cover. Works great and the bend of the fork makes popping them out really easy.

Speaking of the wipers uselessness, someone told me last night that the rear wiper is one inch shorter than the shortest replacement blade available. Dealer only item? Another reason I'm glad I took mine off...

This may be stupid... but how do you remove the wiper completely? Once you remove the motor, is the wiper itself off, too?!

I'm definitely shaving mine when my body kit comes. I just have to find out how much paint will cost... and how to remove the wiper in the first place.

you remove the wiper arm. then remove the motor. then you have a hole to fill.
